Fion grew up in a family in which both her father and brother practiced acupuncture. Traditional Chinese Medicine has been deeply ingrained in her and became her true calling after coming to a major career transition several years ago. Growing up Fion watched many people come and go to and from her house to recieve acupuncture treatments from her father.  When people would show up a few days later to offer home made food to her family she realized that these treatments had really made a difference, this had a profound effect on her. Later in life when a crossroad presented itself, Fion asked herself what she could do to make a difference in her community and in the lives of others. She decided to go back to school and chose the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver to study acupuncture and Chinese medicine.  Since graduating Fion has and received additional training in China and continues to further her education by attending seminars when ever possible.

Fion also volunteers at Friends For Life, here is how it came about:

My journey with “Friends for Life” began over two years ago when I was seeking opportunities to give back to the community for my many blessings in life. The phrase “friends for life” peaked my interest and here I am! My father impressed upon me the wisdom of reverence towards humanity and to pay love forward. As a youngster in Taiwan, I convinced my little classmates to give me coins, in turn, I donated the money to less fortunate families - this experience taught me the joy of giving. Now,  a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, sharing my blessings to those who are ill. I am grateful for the powerful life stories that members share - moved by the resilience of many such as the person who is pain free for the first time in 16 years - 16 years of living with breast cancer; and the indescribable sense of healing through human compassion. Here lies the truth of “Friends for Life”.
